Randall Sims, recently named to investigate sexual assault allegations against Lubbock City Attorney Sam Medina, has been a special prosecutor enough times he can’t quickly hit an exact number.
The district attorney for the 47th Judicial District estimated in an interview Friday, Feb. 14, he’s been called in to take over a case such as Medina’s “10 or 12 times” since he was sworn in in 2005. He was elected to the position in 2004.
“I’ve done a few in Plainview,” he said.
