A lieutenant with the Lubbock Police Department confirmed a male was transported to University Medical Center Friday night after police responded to shots fired at the Cricket Court Apartments. The shooting was reported at 7:05 p.m. and only one person was injured in the incident.
No information was available from UMC.
Woman in serious condition after crash
A woman was transported to UMC by Emergency Medical Services after a pickup crashed into the side of her vehicle early Sunday morning.
The report stated just after 4 a.m., the 2004 Dodge Van driven by Camille Carl, 37, was struck by a 2009 Chevy Pickup sending Carl to the hospital with critical injuries.
The van was stopped at an angle in the left lane of the 4200 block of North Loop 289.
Clint Oswalt, 30, was driving the Chevy pickup in the eastbound lane and crashed into the side of the Carl’s vehicle.
Local gun shops have benefited greatly after the Nov. 6 election, but one store in particular saw a massive jump in sales this past weekend.
Sharp Shooters Knife & Gun owner Charles Blackwell said his gun sales started picking up right after the election, hitting a peak Saturday with a more than 400 percent increase.
Ammunition accounted for about 20 percent of the sales. Blackwell said sales during the hunting season remained steady but the election is what made sales skyrocket.

Two men were transported to University Medical Center after a car struck a light pole on Milwaukee Avenue on Tuesday night.
A Lubbock police report said driver Mikhail Shelkovich, 61, and passenger Dmitriy Shelkovich, 34, were in the 2001 Chevrolet Malibu going southbound on the 4900 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Mikhail Shelkovich failed to stay in a single lane and drove off the roadway causing the passenger’s side of the vehicle to crash into a light pole, the report said.
Police and Emergency Medical Services responded to the accident just before 10 p.m.
