The sexual assault case against Sam Medina was quashed this week, meaning the former Lubbock city attorney is no longer under indictment.
Medina was indicted in June 2014 on 10 first-degree counts of sexual assault with allegations of bigamy. He was accused of sexually assaulting Angelina Medina multiple times between February 2009 and May 2012 while she was married to his son, Eric Medina.
Sam Medina’s attorney, Roderique S. Hobson Jr., said in a statement Friday there was a fundamental problem in the case against his client.
Sunday marks 24th anniversary of murder
With Sunday marking the 24th anniversary of the murder of a Lubbock woman, detectives are still searching for answers.
One year ago, detectives received an anonymous and credible tip with information and details about the murder of Barbara Jean Hinojosa.
