Lubbock police are investigating a reported shooting Wednesday night in the Arnett Benson neighborhood.
Two police reports detail the shooting as stray bullets struck several slides as children played at a nearby playground.
The first police report states police were dispatched to the scene at 7:40 p.m. following a report of exchanged gunfire in the 3200 block of Grinnell Street.

A Lubbock man has been arrested and his four-year-old daughter was removed from his care after the girl was found walking alone on a sidewalk near 24th Street and Milwaukee Avenue on Sunday night.
Police say it was the second time in two days that the girl was found roaming outside on her own.
On Sunday evening, the child was spotted by a driver who then stopped to help, according to a statement from Lubbock police spokeswoman Tiffany Pelt.
Court documents detail the arrest of two brothers Friday evening after they allegedly robbed a woman at gunpoint in East Lubbock early Thursday morning.
According to court documents, 36-year-old Ramiro Sistos, Jr. and 33-year-old Byron Lee Sistos were charged with aggravated robbery following the incident in which one of the men reportedly told the victim, “if I see one police car, I will pop you.”
Officials report the victim was at McDonald’s near 19th Street and Avenue X when she drove home after eating at the location.

Lubbock police are searching for a suspect they say stole a vehicle from an extended stay motel parking lot in Central Lubbock in early September.
Police were notified about the crime on Sept. 6, when the victim reported her vehicle was stolen from a parking lot in the 1600 block of 34th Street.
According to a police report, the victim told police her husband left the vehicle keys in the door of their motel room and they were removed without their consent.
PLAINS — A Denver City man pleaded guilty Wednesday afternoon to killing his wife seven years ago.
Mario Romero, 41, received a 30-year prison sentence with his murder conviction.
Aided by a court-appointed interpreter in his native Spanish, he entered the plea in Trey Didway’s 121st District Court. Attorneys were Bill Helwig for the state and David Guinn for Romero.
Romero’s conviction stems from the October 2009 slaying of Veronica Esquivel Romero, 29, at the couple’s Denver City home. He fled with his 3-year-old son.
