One year later, Zoe Campos still missing

A Lubbock teen is still missing exactly one year after she was last seen.

Zoe Gabrielle Campos, 19, disappeared on Nov. 17, 2013. Campos is about 5 feet tall, weighs about 100 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Police later located her silver 1997 Lincoln Town Car abandoned at Driftwood Apartments in the 5500 block of Utica Avenue.

Attorneys in Morgan accident lawsuit meet in court

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Attorneys are meeting in federal court in actor-comedian Tracy Morgan's lawsuit against Wal-Mart over a fatal auto accident on the New Jersey Turnpike last summer.

A Wal-Mart truck slammed into the back of a limo van that was carrying Morgan and several friends back from a show in Delaware.

Comedian James McNair, a friend of Morgan's, was killed. Morgan suffered a broken leg and broken ribs and three others were injured.

4 illegal residents indicted on drug charge

Four residents who were not in the U.S. legally were indicted earlier this week on drug charges.

Jesus Camarena, 33; Jesus Contreras-Martinez, 26; Maria Razcon-Valdez, 24; and Moices Vega-Salazar, 26, were charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, more than 400 grams.

Their arrests on Nov. 3 were the result of an undercover operation conducted by the Lubbock Police Department, according to an arrest affidavit.

Lubbock man arrested following accident

A Lubbock man was arrested following an accident Thursday morning.

Officials said the accident occurred about 7:45 a.m. Thursday in the 5100 block of Clovis Highway.

Officials said Jeremy Steven Winters, 39, was travelling east on the highway when Jose Nunez-Herrera, 31, entered the westbound lane of the highway.

Winters struck Nunez-Herrera from behind, according to officials. Winters was taken to a Lubbock hospital with non-life threatening injures.

Ex-convict charged in Indianapolis teen's death

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — An ex-convict has been charged in the killing of a 15-year-old girl after DNA tests linked him to her badly burned body that was found in an Indianapolis backyard in August, a prosecutor said Friday.

DNA found on Dominique Allen's sandals and body matched samples from 46-year-old William Gholston in the state inmate database, Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry said.

Investigators don't know of any connection between Allen and Gholston, who wasn't initially a suspect in the Aug. 31 slaying, Curry said.

Agency: Schools helped Newtown shooter's mom 'appease' him

HARTFORD, Conn. — A review of the educational and mental health background of the man who carried out the 2012 Newtown massacre indicates the school system unwittingly enabled his mother to "accommodate and appease" him as his mental health problems worsened.

Adam Lanza killed his mother then shot his way into the Newtown school on Dec. 14, 2012, and gunned down 20 children and six educators before committing suicide.
