Lubbock police responded to a home invasion around 2 a.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of 58th street.
According to police, an unknown masked subject entered a home and demanded money from one of the occupants. The subject assaulted the occupant, leaving him with minor injuries. The occupant refused EMS.
The subject and possibly one or more accomplices fled the scene with unspecified property.
The investigation is ongoing.
Eight police cars from the Lubbock Police Department, Lubbock County Sherriff’s Office and Department of Public Safety responded to a traffic stop in the area of 74th Street and Indiana Avenue late Thursday morning. There was also a helicopter.
Police and dogs were searching a gray Ford hatchback at the intersection at about 11 a.m. They completed the search several minutes later.

Authorities seized 3 1/2 pounds of marijuana, packaging material, scales, grinders, more than $1,800 and a four-door BMW sedan as evidence July 19 in the 6500 block of Avenue O in Lubbock.
Deputies assigned to the Narcotics Division/Canine Unit of the Lubbock Sheriff’s Office as well as the Lubbock Police Department’s Special Operations Division responded to the location after a Crime Line tip reported the possibility of illegal activities taking place in the neighborhood, according to a news release.

Two people are still recovering after being shot Saturday evening in Lubbock County.
Officials responded to a call of shots fired at about 10:40 p.m. Saturday near the 8600 block of Ash Avenue. The shooting occurred at the Frosty Treats of Texas building, according to a woman who says she witnessed the shooting.
“I saw the whole thing. (I) was just riding into the driveway on my bike and they had the bay doors opened when it happen. I stopped and saw (and) heard it all,” she said. “The shooter ran right past me when it was over ... I am still shaking from it all.”
The Plainview Police Department launched an investigation after a body was reported in the 1300 block of W. 5th Street.
The man was dead when police arrived at the scene at about 2:25 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release. The man was reportedly found in the parking lot of Country Legends nightclub.
Police said family members identified the body as Fredie Salas. The cause of death is still under investigation.
