Police still investigating weekend Plainview death

Police still probing Plainview death

The cause of death for the man who was found dead last weekend in the parking lot of Country Legends Bar is still unknown, but police say it appears he was run over by a motor vehicle.

The type of vehicle also is unknown, but witnesses reported seeing a gray semi-tractor leaving the back parking area at the time of the incident, according to a news release.

“It is also unknown whether Fredie Salas was involved in any type of physical confrontation,” the release states.

DPS trooper seizes $6K in fake currency

The Texas Department of Public Safety seized 67 ounces of liquid codeine, $6,000 in counterfeit U.S. currency and two handguns during a traffic stop this weekend on Interstate 40, near Bushland in Potter County.

The DPS trooper stopped a 2014 Dodge Avenger traveling eastbound on the highway at about 11 a.m. Saturday for a traffic violation.

During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered the contraband inside the vehicle, which was allegedly being transported from Los Angeles to Dallas, according to a news release.

DPS trooper seizes 60 pounds of marijuana near Amarillo

The Texas Department of Public Safety seized more than 60 pounds of marijuana valued at more than $27,000 during a traffic stop last week on Interstate 40 near Amarillo in Potter County.

The trooper stopped a 2014 Cadillac XTS traveling eastbound on the highway for a traffic violation at about 7:15 p.m. Friday. During the stop, the trooper discovered six bundles of marijuana in the trunk, which were allegedly being transported from Phoenix to Oklahoma City, according to a news release.
