HOUSTON — A jury sentenced a Texas cancer researcher to 10 years in prison after she was convicted of poisoning her colleague, who was also her lover, by lacing his coffee with a chemical found in antifreeze.
Dr. Ana Maria Gonzalez-Angulo, 43, a breast cancer doctor based at Houston's famed Texas Medical Center, had been involved in a sexual relationship with her fellow researcher, Dr. George Blumenschein.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — They both were walking alone, separated from their friends late at night, on or near the University of Virginia campus. One was found dead nearly five years ago. The other is still missing.
Now police say there's a link between the 2009 slaying of Morgan Harrington and the Sept. 13 disappearance of Hannah Graham: Forensic evidence found as a result of the arrest of Jesse L. Matthew Jr., who fled the state after being questioned by police in the Graham case.

Officials arrested a man on a murder charge after a fight last weekend in Anton.
Cristoval Resendez, 25, of Anton was arrested by Texas Rangers and charged with the murder of 27-year-old Kevin Alcerro-Funez, also of Anton. Resendez is in the Hockley County Jail and is being held on a $250,000 bond.
The Texas Department of Public Safety Texas Rangers were contacted by the Hockley County Sheriff’s Office about 2 a.m. Saturday to assist with the investigation of a death in Anton, according to a news release.
