Lubbock Christian School announced the hiring of a president on Friday morning as the 21-year veteran superintendent prepares for retirement.
According to an LCS news release, the Board of Trustees has appointed Tye Rogers to begin his new role during the 2016-17 school year.
Rogers, who comes from the Plainview Independent School District where he served as high school principal, will be stepping in after the retirement of Peter Dahlstrom.
Dahlstrom will retire in the summer after serving the school district for several decades.

Lubbock police are asking for help identifying and locating a suspect involved in a hit-and-run crash on Feb. 11 near the South Plains Mall.
Police responded to the accident in the 6000 block of Slide Road after a vehicle collided with a Ford Edge and fled the scene.
The suspect’s photo and vehicle description was released by LPD through social media on Monday.
SNYDER — A third person was arrested and charged last week with capital murder three years after the shooting death of a Snyder man.
Snyder police on Monday announced the Feb. 26 arrest of 26-year-old Jamie Akeen Pruitt of Arlington in connection with the death of 25-year-old Justin Vaughn.
On March 13, 2013, officers were called to a two-story house in the 200 block of 36th Street just after 2 a.m. in response to report of gunfire, according to A-J Media. When police arrived, Vaughn was found dead.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — A neighborhood in turmoil after the death of a man who police say was wanted on a drug charge is awaiting answers about what led an officer to fatally shoot him as authorities continue investigating.
Eyewitnesses have offered descriptions of what happened to the man after an officer chased him into a backyard, and one woman said she ran down a side street after hearing gunshots. The only thing Raleigh police Chief Cassandra Deck-Brown would say is that a gun was found near the man’s body, but did not say whether it was his.

Lubbock police were called out to the intersection of 19th Street and Buddy Holly Avenue after a Citibus collided with a Jeep Tuesday morning.
Police said the incident occurred after 9 a.m. when a bus headed north crashed into a white Jeep headed west after the Jeep ran a red light.
The Jeep’s driver suffered minor injuries, but everyone on the scene refused EMS services, according to police.

Since the Fiber Brite Ltd. mote plant began operations in Wilson in 2005, CFO Kerry Thompson said the business has never seen loss to the magnitude it has within the last month.
In February alone, the plant has seen two fires. Thompson said Monday’s fire destroyed what was left of the warehouses and product.
In an unshaken voice, Thompson expressed resilience and loyalty to the company’s employees.
“Our employees are very loyal,” he said. “They feel the pain just like we do.”
